Our Book Review – Predator ~ A Stand Alone Novel by Michelle Horst

29287144

There is nothing worse than the feeling of being alone.
Having no one to speak to, to confide in.
Having no one to share your life with, share your emotions with.
The world can be a very cold, isolated, dark and unforgiving place when having to face it on your own.
It almost feels suffocating.
Especially when you’re only eighteen years old.

This is Caras story.

At eighteen, Cara is ready to set off to college like any other normal teenage girl. She has a wonderful life, loving parents. Her future is bright.
But Cara doesn’t know that monsters are lurking.
She doesn’t know that it’s her death they want.
An explosion will change everything.
Parents gone, she only has her Uncle left.
But she can’t stay.
She has to run.
New identity, new country, she has to make sure she is always one step ahead of them.

Seven years.
Seven years of running.
Seven years without friends.
Seven years without feeling, just simply living each day making sure you’re never found.
But after seven years, Caras time has just ran out.
They have found her.
It’s their turn now.
They will take her blood.
They will shatter her soul.
They will destroy her.

Not if he has anything to do with it.

He’s strong.
He’s cold and calculated.
He hunts his prey and kills with no remorse.
He saves people from the evils of the world.
His job.
To find a girl.
Her name Cara.

His name….Predator.

Welcome to Cara and Predators world.

A world where monsters exist.
A world where darkness seeps into your bones.
A world where strength and hope are the only things to hang on too.
A world where blood will be shed and souls completely destroyed.
A world where love is only a longing dream.
A world where two very broken souls will be united in the most horrific of circumstances.

Guys….Predator what can I say other than this book has left me with one serious book hangover.
Hooked from the dedication I was completely captivated, held hostage. I seriously couldn’t put it down.
It was raw, dark, extremely confronting, soul shattering, heart-breakingly beautiful.
To be honest it shattered me into a million pieces. So confronting at times it was hard to breathe.
So dark and raw it left me speechless.
So breathtakingly beautiful my heart melted.
So haunting there were moments it broke me.
Even after finishing I feel like I have a gaping hole in my chest….I honestly can’t explain it.

I wish I could rate this more than a 5 star, because believe me when I say Predator is absolute sheer brilliance and so much more. It’s a read not to be missed. It will leave you haunted….Just like me.

A HUGE 5 star read (but deserves 10 in my eyes)

Our Book Review – Bury Me by Tara Sivec

26068875

Bury Me…..This novel has me simply lost for words.
I have absolutely no idea what to say.
The only things that come to mind are…..

Wow.
I have no words.
I have no idea.
Omfg.
Wtf.
I just didn’t read that.
No way.
That did not just happen.
Are you serious?
What the hell?
Ummm.
The ending…….OMFG!!
Never saw it coming.
Speechless……I’m completely speechless.

Bury Me in all honesty has been one of the most disturbing reads I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Gripping me form the very first page, I had no idea what I was in for. What I got was a dark, twisted, disturbing, raw read that left me dumbfounded. I am still struggling to absorb what I read. It’s so twisted that it left me dumbstruck. I honestly cannot articulate into words the emotions that I am still feeling after completing it.
I am still sitting here questioning how an author could even come up with something so mind blowing. I am just simply at a loss to explain anything.

All I know is that I recommend this book to the whole of the book world. You definitely won’t get sunshine and rainbows with this novel, but you will get a total mind fu%$ that will leave you gob-smacked!!

Ohh I will leave you with this quote though….

“My name is Ravenna Duskin, I’m eighteen years old, I live in a prison, and…….”

A HUGE 5 star.

Review Tour – Temptation – Brie Paisley

Temptation comes in many forms.

Most people are able to resist or fight against it. I am not one of those people.

I used to be the good girl. That shy and forgettable girl that everyone looked over. That girl that had her whole life planned out. But one choice, one bad mistake at a party, changed my life in so many ways. Gone was my mapped out future. Gone was the perfect image of the girl I was.

Then he came.

Viktor Matvei found me. He saved me. And then he offered me one of the biggest temptations of all. The chance to become someone else. I had a chance to be stronger, confident, and most of all, the opportunity to change the course of my life. If it were just me, the decision would’ve been easy but my thoughts are blurred with an unexpected return of my past.

Viktor lives and breathes his strict rules. He is demanding and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I know there are things in his life that makes him be the way he is. He is a temptation that I cannot give into. If I do, I fear there will not be a shred of Ava Walker left.

Now I have a choice.

Will I continue to fight Viktor? Or will I give into his temptation?

When Riley becomes attracted to Conner, she is torn over what she should do.Isaac, however, lets Riley know he is willing to share. Shocked and utterly confused, Riley does as she is told and begins a relationship with not one, but two men. Everything was great until Isaac and Conner’s past comes back to haunt them and Riley ends up in the middle. Just when she thinks it cant get any worse, Riley’s ex comes back into the picture and she is thrown back into her past. Can love really conquer all? Or will this be just another sad love story?

He is darkness. He is everything that should make me run and never look back. I should run. I should leave and forget everything he makes me want and feel. I have tried running, only to be caught and brought back. Why does this man want me? Why does he want to claim everything I have?

I just want to be free. I want and need my freedom from him.

I need freedom from his darkness.

I need freedom from his chains that bind me.

I need freedom from falling for the man that I know is a monster.

She is light. Everything that is good while I am consumed with darkness. She is my salvation from the monster that dwells inside of me. I can’t help but want her. I can’t help but need her. I have to consume her in every way possible. She is mine whether she wants to believe it or not. She wants her freedom from me. But what she doesn’t see, I am the very thing she wants and needs.

Freedom to be herself.

Freedom to let go of her pain.

Freedom to fall for the one man that sets her body on fire.

Body, mind, and soul I will claim what is mine.

Our Book Review – Falling Completely (Starling Falls #1) by Aidan Willows

28528911

When Nikki and Liya leave England for Starling Falls, the last thing on Liyas mind is falling in love. After all she’s only there for a year, working at the local hospital, while Nikki takes over their Aunts bakery.

But fate is about to step in, and have the gorgeous firefighter Caleb literally falling at Liyas feet, as he saves a young boy from being hit by a car.

What is it about Caleb that Liya can’t stop thinking about?

What starts out as a pretty tame “Gilmore Girls” storyline soon heats up and will leave anyone with a heartbeat a little hot and flustered!!

While the attraction is there for both of them, Liya is adamant she doesn’t want a relationship, and is quite happy with a friends with benefits arrangement. What she doesn’t count on is falling in love with Caleb, and this scares her.

In this hypnotising read, we go through all the ups and downs of Liyas and calendar relationship. We see walls being broken down, we see secrets being told but most of all, we see a beautiful love story that will leave even the most sceptical “I don’t believe in love” person, wondering “what can happen if you just take a chance?”

Loved, loved, loved this story from beginning to end. Through laughter and tears, we finished it very quickly, just in time for book two in the Starling Falls series.

Highly recommended.
5 definite star read.

We have been looking forward to reading the conclusion to Chad and Audrey’s story and we were not disappointed.

But Chad is angry.
He’s hurt.

How could she do this?
Why did she put her life in danger?
Why would she risk everything?
He needs to understand, but right now he can’t.
He’ll make sure Audrey is taken care of, but he has a plan.
Audrey just doesn’t know it yet.

Audrey is hurting, she’s sore, recovering from the damage her ex-husband has done to her.
Chads father is taking good care of her.
But Chads cold, closed off. Audrey can’t understand why.
Did she do something wrong?
What could it be?
Will Audrey ever get the chance to find out what’s going on with Chad?

Or is this the end for them both?

You just have to read this beautifully written final instalment to find out.

What can we say about Blue Waves other than again we were taken on a roller coaster ride. It’s raw, at times extremely confronting, heart-breaking, sinfully delicious, full of twists and turns and breathtakingly beautiful. We were again captivated from beginning to end.
We loved the banter between the characters, falling in love with both Chad and Audrey all over again.
Audrey’s strength and determination was simply inspiring.
Chad’s warmth and never give up attitude was simply breathtaking.

Overall truly a beautiful read to end an amazing trilogy.

A 4 star read.
