Our Book Review – Wish He Was You (The Blogger Diaries #2) by K.D. Robichaux

** Review by Kylie from Bloggers From Down Under **

With book one finishing on such a heartbreaking cliffhanger, we catch up with Kayla as she tries to get on with her life without Jason. She’s moved back to her home town and soon makes new friends.

When Kayla first meets Aiden, she’s not ready for a relationship but soon things are quickly moving in that direction. When, on a weekend away, Aiden asks Kayla to be his girlfriend, even she is surprised that she agrees.

When news of Aiden’s deployment comes, he does the only thing that really makes any sense to him, and proposes. And even though it’s only been a few months, Kayla once again finds herself agreeing.

It’s not long after the wedding, (while Aiden’s on deployment) that Kayla and Jason seriously begin communicating with one another, and Kayla truly realises that Jason is her soul mate and the only man for her.

But fate has other ideas, and while you may be expecting a happily ever after, we don’t get it in this book!!!!

Another superbly written piece that honestly feels like shooting the breeze with one of my oldest girlfriends. Not all parts of this story are pretty, and Kayla will even tell you herself that it was the hardest time she had to deal with.

Another instalment that I couldn’t put down…………eagerly awaiting the third and final book so our girl can finally get her happily ever after.

A definite 5 stars.

Guys…..We are so not giving anything else up because you are just going to have to read it to find out.

We loved this instalment of the Oblivion on Tour series. We were taken on a sinfully delicious, heartbreaking journey. We laughed at the craziness of both Cody, Kitty and the band. Our hearts broke at the loss they felt. We held our breath hoping and praying for them to be together.
We fell in love with Cody and his humor, strength and vulnerability.
We fell in love with Kitty and her determination, her sass and personality.
Put these two together, you have one amazingly explosive read.

We recommend this novel to be placed on everyone’s TBR list…..You won’t be disappointed.

For us a 5 star read.

Our Book Review – Ten Poems for the Hungry – Blue Marie Balcita

Ten Poems for the Hungry is the voices of the forsaken.  The true life stories of the homeless.  Maybe these poems will change something….Maybe they won’t….All that matters is that they change you!

Well guys this is unusual territory for me. I am the first one to put my hand up and admit that I have NEVER read a book of poetry. Yes I know as a blogger that’s pretty unusual, but then again personally  I never thought that it would be something that I would enjoy.

But guys this…..Ten Poems for the Hungry completely blew my mind. Read in only a short time, I was completely overwhelmed and blown away by the impact that these poems had on me. I have never lived in a world of homelessness, so reading these took me to a different place. A world where loneliness can be consuming to the soul.
I was completely consumed and it will stay with me a long time.

I highly recommend this to everyone to purchase and read. It will definitely open your eyes and hopefully change the way they think about homelessness.

A 5 star for me.

Our Book Review – Wished for You (The Blogger Diaries #1) by K.D. Robichaux

** Review written by Kylie from Bloggers From Down Under **

When I first picked up this first book in this trilogy, I was hoping for something to make the day pass. What I got was a whole hell of a lot more…. In a totally good way. What made this story so intriguing is not only was it written obviously from the heart, but every happy, confusing, heartbreaking event actually happened.

This is Kayla and Jason’s story. A story written so honestly, you’re going to feel like you know these people personally.
It will have you feeling giddy with excitement when Kayla and Jason finally get together.

But, hang on to your hats, because Kayla ends the book with a cliffhanger that I certainly didn’t see coming, but also has me waiting patiently for her second book.

Loved, loved, loved the easy flow to this book, and the simple fact that I couldn’t put it down for long……I just had to know what happened next.

For those of us who believe in soul mates, you will not be disappointed.

A huge 5 star not to be missed read

Our Book Review – Fair Catch – Emerson Rose

** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **
**Review written by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **

Emerson Rose has done it again….Fair Catch….Wow just wow!!

We meet River Kelly, quarterback for the San Francisco Sparks.
He’s all things delicious, single and a star player for his team. From a big family, they mean everything to him and he’s hugely family orientated, hoping one day he’ll have one of his own one day. He’s never had a girlfriend, because frankly they have only ever been after one thing….His money.
River hates gold diggers so his lack of trust in women has left him single with just a hook up here and there.
But that is until he sees her.
She’s stunning, beautiful and all woman.
At first site all River thinks is ‘she’s an angel’.
And that she is.

Her name…..Angel Williams.
She’s young, beautiful, dedicated and driven. All Angel has ever wanted to do is a be prima ballerina for the San Francisco Dance Company. Angel eats, sleeps and practices. It’s her mission to prove to her family that she can be a professional dancer. They have never approved of her choices so she plans on proving them wrong. But with that comes no social life, no partying and no men. They are all too much of a distraction to her.
But that is until she meets him.
He will be her game changer.

Welcome to River and Angel’s world.

Guys Fair Catch was an absolute delight to read. I loved every minute of it. It was lighthearted, witty and sinfully delicious.
But it was also raw and confronting.
It was such a beautifully executed read that it held me hostage from beginning to end.
I fell in love with both River and Angel and their story. Simply breathtaking.

5 stars.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been patiently waiting….no wait let me rephrase….I’ve been impatiently waiting for Strongest….Because lets face it Carter and Carmen are just simply amazing, and I have desperately wanted to know what happens next.

Well I finally got my what happens next and I have been completely blown away!

We are reunited once again with Carter and Carmen. After an extremely turbulent and heartbreaking start to their relationship, in Strongest we get to see more of their journey, and boy are you in for one hell of a roller coaster ride.
Again they are both tested emotionally and psychologically, but not for the reasons you may think.
Their relationship is pushed.
As individuals they are pushed.
As a couple, their boundaries are pushed to the very core.
But we know their survivors right?
Carter and Carmen can conquer anything as long as they have each other right?
Or can they?

Sorry guys…..That’s all I’m giving you, because you just have to read Strongest to find out.

Again KA Hobbs has produced an unbelievably heartbreaking, heartwarming, raw and confronting read that had me captivated from beginning to end.
Highly emotional, I often found myself either laughing my butt off or snot dribbling ugly crying. Yes guys it’s that’s right, the emotions that Strongest was able to pull from me was nothing short of brilliant.
I fell in love with both Carter and Carmen all over again.
Carter and his vulnerability and strength.
Carmen and her determination and fears.
And the gang….Josie, Jack, Doug, Sophia, Harry, Megs….They are all here once again!

Guys this is a MUST read.
It’s breathtakingly beautiful.
It’s everything and so much more.
You won’t be disappointed. Trust me.

A huge 5 star read.

First Crush (Dark Falkon #1) by J.O. Mantel

**Received for an honest review**

She want him.
She needs him.
She’s obsessed with him.
But he isn’t the one for her.

As much as Sienna is obsessed with Lukas Dark he isn’t the one for her, the one for her is standing right in front of her right under her nose and poor Jake is being driven crazy with jealousy.

Jake tries not to let on that he is mad for her and it does get pretty hard to do he wants to show her the real him so that she can see who he really is and fall head over hills in love with him.

Jake is hot as hell and sexy as sin and he wants her.

He needs her
He loves her.
Can Jake make her see the real him?
Will he succeed?
Who will Sienna choose?
Will it be Lukas?
Will it be Jake?

The story line of the book is good we found ourselves a little lost with some parts with who was talking and who wasn’t but for a first book it was great.
