When I was first given this book to read and review, I must admit I was pretty keen. I will be the first to admit that I enjoy reading murder mysteries. But there was something about this book that started out quite confusing. I just didn’t “get it” so I put it down………for a day or two.
When I picked it back up today, I read it from cover to cover, and let me tell you, I am extremely glad I did.
This is not a story for the feint hearted. This is not a story with a happy ending. There is blood, gore, torture and murder.
There’s Christina. A mother struggling to make ends meet. When she turns to the worlds oldest profession, she finally has some money put aside to make this Christmas the best her kids have seen. One more night of work should see her with enough to get her girls the gifts they so deserve. And Christina knows just the place.
Pete is a serial killer. He’s had a pretty crappy childhood, and his adult years aren’t proving to be much better. The press have dubbed him “The 81 Killer”, due to the stretch of highway his victims are abducted and later dumped.
Christmas Eve. Christina and Pete are about to meet. And what transpires is a story that is so horribly traumatic, that I couldn’t put it down.
I give this book a massive 5/5 stars. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
