For as long as they can remember, Sam and James have been the best of friends. With their love of baseball and all that is involved in the sport, theirs is a friendship that is strong. Both their families a close, visiting each other frequently, and spending as much time together as possible.
On James 16th birthday, and Sams 13th, James notices that Sam is upset. When he finally drags the truth out of her, his actions surprises both of them. “The kiss” is never spoken of again until………
The night of Sam’s prom is all she expected it to be, until her date takes her back to a hotel room, to get what he thinks he so rightly deserves.
There’s no way Sam can call either of her parents, so her only option is to rely on her best friend.
When James picks her up, he’s furious. After a minor altercation with Chad, Sams date, James takes Sam to his room, where there friendship is about to be elevated to the next level.
The story ends with James having serious regrets about what they just shared.
While I enjoyed this book, I just felt there was something missing, something I can’t put my finger on. Maybe I will get my answers in the second part of this story.
