Our Book Review – Brake Failure by Alison Brodie

Ruby is the epitome of an English lady. Her husband, Edward, works in advertising, and they are on the verge of a huge move to Paris. Now that will give Ruby’s snooty nosed sister something to think about.

The book is set over a four month period, leading up to New Year’s Eve.

The quiet couple, after realising the move to Paris is not going to go ahead, move to Kansas. But behind the perfect facade they both show, the marriage is seriously in peril.

It’s not until Ruby meets a group of women who take her under their wings, that her life really starts to have some meaning. Throw in a (sort of) love triangle, and you have one magical story.

I absolutely adored this story from beginning to the climatic ending. You will not be disappointed, and it may just teach you a thing or two about love.

A definite 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  1. Thank you for the 5* review of Brake Failure. I really appreciate your kind support, Kylie, at Bloggers from Down Under. You took the risk of reading a novel by an unknown indie author – not many bloggers would be brave enough to do that! x
