** Review by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **
The second instalment of the Harris Tower Series.
As we know from reading Saved, Sean and Shervon met while Shervon was being interviewed for a position at Harris Tower. It was insta-love for them both.
In this instalment, Rescued we watch as their relationship grows.
And we get the story from Seans POV.
Shervon is carrying Seans child.
The love they have not only for each other but for their unborn child is all consuming.
But the monsters are still lurking.
Can Sean keep Shervon safe?
Can Shervon ever feel safe again?
Will Shervons past finally become her present?
Will the darkness finally consume Shervon?
What will Sean do to protect what’s his?
Again, and I absolutely hate saying this, I found this instalment a struggle to read.
Better than the first instalment which I only gave a three star rating to, I still found it difficult to find any sort of emotional connection with the characters.
The story flowed beautifully and was quite detailed, but at times it was a little repetitive and I found myself losing interest in some parts.
I liked the way we were able to see a different side to Sean. It was great to get a glimpse into his past even though it was a painful one.
I enjoyed watching both Shervon and Sean grow, and basking in the afterglow of finding out about Shervons pregnancy.
Overall for me, Rescued was a good read, but again it just fell a little short on the emotional side.
