Clare Connelly is a very new author to me.
Off Limits is a novel that I have not heard of before.
But Mills & Boon….Now that is a whole different story. I think we have all heard of Mills & Boon in our lifetime. And I am not sure about you, but for me I always relate the name to the older generation, something my grandmother would read. As much as I know the name I have never picked up a Mills & Boon branded novel.
That is until now….And I have to say I am completely blown away.
Clare Connelly has done an absolute outstanding job with this novel. From beginning to end I honestly couldn’t put it down.
We meet Jack.
Full of wealth, highly successful, all male and all things delicious.
And he is very much single.
Past tragedy has kept him away from women.
Relationships are a thing of the past for Jack.
One night stands….Now they are his thing.
No attachment, no emotion, just how Jack likes it.
His heart will forever remain closed off.
We meet Gemma.
Young, beautiful, highly wealthy and extremely independent.
She is Jack’s right hand.
She is as he likes to label it ‘his assistant’, but Gemma hates Jack seeing her in that light.
She is Jack’s eyes and ears when he can’t be. She is his decision making when he can’t. So Gemma is highly important to Jack.
But there is about to be a sudden shift.
A shift that they both don’t see coming.
A shift so large that old wounds will be opened, secrets will be revealed, hearts will be destroyed.
And the one question will remain….
Will Jack and Gemma survive the storm that is headed their way?
Guys what can I say other than you really need to read this. It’s raw, confronting, powerful and all things sinful. It’s heartbreaking and breathtaking. Personally it’s everything I could have hoped for in a novel and so much more.
Congratulations Clare on a perfectly executed, detailed read. I cannot wait to see more from you.
And to the Mills & Boon brand…..I am a new fan. I look forward to reading more.
